Hi, I'm Jean!

Project Manager

Jean holds an integral position at Calm Body Calm Minds with her vast experience in the field of Mental Illness. Her interest began when one of her family members was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder.

She was grief stricken with sadness, shame, and disbelief. She went through all of the stages that a mother goes through when it appears that all of her dreams disappear. Having no experience with a struggling child, she searched for help.

She became a member of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and soon was recruited to work for them.

She joined NAMI as Education Coordinator. During this time, her responsibilities included bringing sensitivity “awareness” in the form of public speaking to teachers, administrators and high school students.

About Jean

She organized teams of educators, and taught Family to Family courses to grieving parents and siblings, empowering them by directing them to resources, teaching them how to effectively communicate with their loved ones, self care, and remove the stigma. Jean eventually accepted a position with NAMI as Conference Coordinator for the Greater Los Angeles Area, creating the formats and content, securing sites and sponsors, key note speakers, and volunteer staff. She continues her involvement on a volunteer basis.

Jean has an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoys helping start-up companies come to life. She equally has had great success in operating two successful businesses of her own. Jean holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art History and Business.

When she is not lending a helping hand to friends and those in the community, she enjoys spending time with her husband, adult children and grandchildren. Her interests are the family dogs, gardening, learning new skills, knitting, and cooking.

What they say

Staying Calm

Elizabeth’s lessons have helped us tremendously. Staying calm while working with our child through her struggle on regulating her emotions has been tough. In reviewing these videos and remembering that saying calm and providing praise constantly has made a huge difference. Thank you Elizabeth for your support!

Useful Advise

The videos are very clear and helpful. Elizabeth explains the techniques in a calm and precise way. As a former teacher I can see how her suggestions would be very helpful. It is hard to stay calm and consistent but it works. Her techniques can work with toddlers as well as primary students. I would imagine her techniques would really be helpful with special needs children.
